In this tutorial you'll learn how to create a notebook using the tools resident in the program. Tutorial Includes project files.
To start, we want a landscape page measuring 8.5 x 11 in CMYK mode. Create a new layer.

Create a color in CMYK mode for a dark red.

Hit Shift+Backspace to fill with the current new color.

Apply Rough Pastels to the layer with these settings to give the layer a manufactured look.

Create a new layer then open Rulers and drag the guides into place specifying the center and also 1/4" around the piece.

Create a new layer. Make a new off-white color.

Using the Rectangle Marquee Tool, create a vertical rectangle and fill with the off-white color.

Then create guides every 1/4" horizontally and then one at the center vertically 1/4" left of center and then 1/4" left from that one too.

With the Rectangle Marquee Tool selected, outline the second square down from the top using a Feather of 1 px. When you have outlined the space, change Style to Fixed Size.

With the Rectangle Marquee Tool, click in every other space and press Delete.

Duplicate the layer then select Transform and Flip Horizontal. Move the page into position.

For the duplicated pages fill with white. Use Transform to adjust the width of the page on each side. Add a drop shadow to one page in the Layer Options dialogue box. Right-click on the layer and choose Copy Layer Styles. On the second page right-click and choose Paste Layer Styles.

On a new layer create a thin rectangle and fill with black. Use the Dodge Tool set to Shadows to create a highlight. Then under Layer Options apply Bevel and Emboss.

Use the Alt key first followed by the Shift key and the Selection Tool to drag out a copy of the rectangle. You will have two layers now. Shift and select the second layer and press Control+E to combine the layers.

You should now have the clips that are in a notebook. Select all of the these layers using the Shift key and press Control+E to combine them.

Now apply a Drop Shadow located under Layer Styles.

In this step we set up more guides, choose a version of pink, then use the Pen Tool to outline the area. Click on the Brush Tool and choose the brush Airbrush Hard Round 13. Go over to Paths and click on the arrow and select Stroke Path then choose Brush from the options. You can continue to add more decoration but I have given you the basics.
