New Magnifying Lens Filter - Corel Paint Shop Pro 8 Tutorial
| Vikki Olds August 1, 2003 | 1 | | In previous versions of Paint Shop Pro we went to great lengths to create realistic magnifying glass effects. It took time. Now, with the new Magnifying Lens tool built in to Paint Shop Pro, it's fairly simple. You'll find the Magnifying Lens filter under Effects>Artistic Effects>Magnifying Lens. | | 2 | | Either create a new image or open an existing image to apply the filter to. Below is the image I am using for this tutorial. | | 3 | | In the Magnifying Lens dialog (Effects>Artistic Effects>Magnifying Lens), you have many settings you can use to create just the right effect. Since I wanted to enhance just a portion of the pattern I made the rest of the image darker and applied the settings shown below to create the magnifying glass. On the frame tab you can choose from many colors to make the frame of the glass. You can set illumination and the glass properties also. | | 4 | | Below is the final image. Pretty simple compared to the way we used to do it. | | 5 | | Have fun creating some terrific magnifying glass effects on your images! | | Copyright 2003, Vikki Olds, All Rights Reserved | |
