Victorian Oval Frame - Corel Paint Shop Pro Tutorial
Victorian Framed Oval Floral Donnamarie J. Walker March 15, 2001 | 2 | | Open a new image 300x300 transparent. We will work on this size, then you can crop the image when finished. | | 3 | | Open Oval Floral and choose a color from the image with your eye dropper. We will use this color for your background. I used the pale yellow around the image for this tutorial but choose your favorite. | | 4 | | Flood fill transparent image with your color. | | 5 | | Add a new layer and call it OvalFloral. Copy the Oval Floral and paste as a New Selection. While image still has the "ants" moving add a Drop Shadow with these settings:60/5.7/2/2 Repeat the Drop Shadow use these settings:60/5.7/-2/-2 Deselect. | | 6 | | Add a New Layer and call it VictorianFrame. Click on your tube tool and select the Victorian Frame. Place it on your image and move it until it's where you want it. Now, if you want to add a preset or colorize the frame this is the time to do it. Or you can leave it as it. I colorized mine using these settings:30/248 | | 7 | | Add Drop Shadow at these settings:60/5.7/2/2 Deselect. | | 8 | | Add a new layer and call it GlassGlobe. Open your Globe and add to image. Yes, it is too large, so now click on your Deformation Tool and adjust the size to fit into the frame with just a little over the edge. This will be hidden when we move the layer in the next step. You can also Sharpen> Image at this point or make any other changes to the glass you wish. | | 9 | | Click on the GlassGlobe layer and drag in under the VicorianFrame layer. | | 10 | | Go to the layer palette, click on VictorianFrame, then add a new layer and call it GlassBalls. Open your Glass Ball tubes and choose the one you'd like to add to the hanging chain, reducing the tube size to 25. You can also use Pearls or any other small gem. After you have the glass ball you will be using, copy it. Now, Image>Sharpen, add your drop shadow now. Paste as a New Selection the additional balls, adding the Sharpen Image and Drop Shadows to each one before adding the next one. | | 11 | | Go to the Layers Palette, click and drag the GlassBalls layer below the VictorianFrame layer. This will set your GlassBalls behind the chains. | | 12 | | If you'd like to add the last GlassBall to the top of the frame, add another layer, paste the ball and add a drop shadow. | | 13 | | Add one more layer and call it Text. This is where you can add your signature to the frame if you'd like. | | 14 | | Now, at this point you can save this in PSP format and it will retain all the layers as they are so you can change anything about it in the future. I added one more layer for my Sparkle, then used Image>Sharpen. I usually save most layered images in this format, then duplicate the image, close the original and finish cropping and merging the layers. Merge All>Flatten. | | You can now use your lovely Victorian Oval Framed Floral image as part of your stationery border or in your web design.
