Using Curves, we'll make this photo much more attractive. As you can see, it really has lost all of it's depth.

So the first thing to do is open Curves. The shortcut is better: Control+M.
Let's start by placing three points on the Curves line as I have done below.
Here I've set two more points on the Curve line and made adjustments to achieve the best results possible at this point.
As you can see we have improved the photo somewhat.
Next, using Hue/Saturation, check Colorize and then make the adjustments to Hue, Saturation, and Lightness.
As you can see, we've taken out all the color that existed before.
Again I applied Curves.
Now we're see some depth.
I applied Levels to the piece at this point, lastly applied another Curve to the photo.

Here is our finished photo. It's much easier on the eyes.
